Fairwarp Village Scarecrow Competition 2025

It's Scarecrow time in a few weeks
This year we have shunted this fun event down the road to the last two weeks of October. Starting on Saturday 17 October. Therefore the judging will be just before Halloween, on Saturday 31 October.
This will be a bit more autumnal as well. And as such, perhaps we could see a few more creepy ones this year as they should be left up over the Halloween weekend. But that doesn't mean its necessary to go with a scary theme... whatever works.
Last year some of the best Scarecrows were sadly hidden from view, down lanes and passages. So this autumn we have decided to invite you to stick them on the green for all to see...if yours is transportable.
If you do decide to have one streetside, or outside your home then we will need your address and details. And that's OK too.
All the information is on the entry form below. Entry forms will also be in the Echo magazine holder behind the Milk Churn at Echo HQ. And also available at the Foresters Arms. Please drop entries into the black mailbox at Moorland Cottage, The Street, Fairwarp TN22 3BE. And don’t forget your £10.00 entry fee! Payment details are on the Entry Form - see link opposite.
Prizes
First Prize
Harrods Hamper
Second Prize and Third Prize
Harrods Gifts
The winning Scarecrows will be provided with a placed rosette after the judging.
If we have room, all the entry's pictures will be posted in the Christmas issue. Not just the top three.
