Fairwarp Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

We closed The Street from the entrance to Back Lane to the end of the pub car park. The road was closed at 11.00am. We set up trestle tables down the middle, covered them in banqueting roll, red table runners and flowers. And then the villagers came - about 200 of them - to share a big lunch together. A band played outside the pub. People socialised, ate, drank, sang God Save the Queen and cut the special cake.

Then we all worked to clear The Street and get everything back to normal in time for the Street opening again at 5.00pm. What a fabulous day and it didn't rain!
