Following the announcement today of the sad death of the Duke of Edinburgh, Christ Church will remain open for prayer and reflection, and for the lighting of votive and memorial candles, on Sunday 11th April. The Parish Eucharist will take place as usual at 9.30 am and the church will be open from 11.00 am for visitors. There will, by government instruction, be no opportunity to sign a book of condolence at church; but an on-line book of condolence has been opened at: www.churchofengland.org/remembering-his-royal-highness-prince-philip .
All are warmly invited to come to Christ Church between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm on Sunday to reflect on the nation’s life and on the contribution made by His Royal Highness, and the example of public service which he embodied over his long life.
