Vasari Singers Concert - Christ Church - Friday 3 June - 7.30pm

The renowned Vasari Singers is regarded as one of the leading chamber choirs in Britain. Under the direction of its founder-conductor Jeremy Backhouse, Vasari Singers performs a wide range of repertoire from Renaissance to contemporary.


The programme will consist of classical pieces in the first half -. Miserere Mei by Allegri, Lux Aeterna (Nimrod) by Elgar, Salisbury Motets by Bob Chilcott among others


The second half is lighter pieces -. Three Shakespeare Songs by Vaughan Williams, Give us This Day by Ward Swingle (Jeremy’s mentor and one time resident of Fairwarp and now buried in the churchyard along with his wife), Penny Lane by Lennon/McCartney, and more.


It will start at 7.30pm and last about two hours with a 20 minute interval in the middle. Refreshments will be available…
