Fairwarp WI is celebrating its centenary in March 2021 and as part of the celebrations we are planting 300 wild daffodils bulbs (Narcissus Pseudonarcissus also know as the Lent Lily) along the edge of the village green. It is hoped that next March the daffodils will be popping up to bring some joy to everyone.
All the necessary permissions have been sought and it is only this variety of wild native daffodil that is allowed to be planted. However, they are notoriously difficult to grow and it might take a while before they create a view like Wordsworth witnessed that inspired his famous poem.
The daffodil planting will take place on Friday 16 October and full details are below.
